It was victory for Clwyd in the inter-county Eddie Faure 10k Race at Prestatyn on Sunday. But the Gwynedd team finished well with some encouraging results.
In the Open 10k, Colin Jones of Eryri Harriers made it a hat-trick of wins in 31.51mins. Adrian Bailey of Bro Dysynni AC finished 6th overall in 33.11mins.
The first trophy of the day went to the 1st Junior Male Under-20, Alun Williams, 10th overall in 33.43mins. John Roberts, Mark Blunden, Tom Lewis and Richard Griffiths all finished within 46 seconds of each other, in a tight finish to beat the 40mins barrier.
Second trophy of the day went to Barrie Jackson (1st male over-55) in 41.42mins, just 30 seconds ahead of Colin Evans.
The ladies team did well too, Glenda Davies, 2nd female over-35, in 46.12mins, improving her PB by 10 seconds. Marjorie Griffiths finished in 54.02mins, Eirlys Griffiths was 2nd female over-45 in 63.45mins with Helen Williams, 3rd female over-45 in 67.57mins.
The next handicap race will be the Dick Whittington Dawdle, a five mile run at Oswestry on 25th June, followed by Newtown Athletic Club's Three Hills Fell race at Churchstoke on 5th July.
