There are two local events being held over the festive period, aimed both at the serious and not-so-serious competitor. Firstly, Boxing Day will see the Christmas running of the Tyn-Y-Groes Hill Run. The 2.7 mile event, which will include 700 feet of climbing is due off at 12.00 Noon from the Tyn-Y-Groes Hotel in Ganllwyd, near Dolgellau. The Dysynni Valley will then be the venue for the Bro Dysynni Resolution Run on Sunday, 4th January, 2009. Here, competitors will have a choice of either a 2 mile or a 4 mile event with all competitors being given the opportunity to estimate their own finishing times. There will be a prize for the closest estimate. The event is due to start at 11.00am from the Gwalia Store Car Park (near Tywyn Cinema) in Tywyn. Further details relating to both events can be found on www.brodysynniac.co.uk.
