Bro Dysynni athletes took part in the Oswestry 10 Mile race over the weekend.


Up front, the race turned out to be a battle between Ian Coupland (Telford) and Scott Walford (City of Norwich), with Coupland winning in a time of 52.46mins to Walford's 53.03mins.


Alison Whitelaw of Wrexham continued her recent success, winning the ladies race in 1hr 03.05mins.


Bro Dysynni athletes were not to be outdone though with Malcolm Taylor and Barrie Jackson taking 2nd and 3rd places in the Male Over-55 age group in a well contested veterans race. Taylor stopping the clock in 1hr 08.24mins with Jackson following in 1hr 12.56mins.


First clubman home on the day though was ever improving Graeme Stringer in 1hr 06.59mins, but it was newly signed member Andrea Goode who took maximum points in the club handicap,  Andrea having a brilliant run in 1hr 13.55mins. Colin Evans continued his comeback in 1hr 09.56mins with Yolande Marconi-Nolan tackling 10 miles for the first time in a long time, finishing in 1hr 34.56mins.


The club will again be supporting the Morris family this weekend, at the Castell Dinas Bran six mile race on Saturday at Llangollen.


Two club runners took a weekend break in Blackpool and took part in the 10k race over an out and back course along the promenade.


With over 3,000 runners taking part, Adrian Bailey of Bro Dysynni finished 2nd in 33.31mins with Nigel Evans following in 38.14mins.
