Another busy weekend for the athletes of Bro Dysynni started on Saturday evening, when Nigel Evans competed in the 13.3 mile Llanfair Caereinion to Newtown leg of the Powergen Welsh Castles Relay. Nigel, running for his second claim club Prestatyn A.C., completed the course in 1hr 26.45mins and was 24th placed out of 51 runners.


Sunday saw an excellent club turnout with 19 Bro Dysynni runners taking part in the Ellesmere 10k.


Just over a minute behind the winner and coming home in second place, was Adrian Bailey of Bro Dysynni, finishing in a time of 32.43mins.


Other Bro Dysynni athletes with age group award categories in brackets were as follows; Alun Williams, 12th home in a time of 35.06mins (1st Under-20), Nigel Evans, competing in his 2nd race of the weekend, home in 39.15mins, Tom Lewis in 40.16mins, Richard Griffiths in 40.46mins, Rosie Naish making a welcome return to competitive action in 42.02mins (1st female over-40), John Nolan in 42.30mins, Malcolm Taylor in 42.36mins (3rd male over-55), Barrie Jackson in 42.39mins, Huw Harrison in 43.00mins, Andy Unwin in 48.42mins, Colin Evans in 49.35mins, Brenda Jones, celebrating her 58th birthday in style, in 49.48mins (2nd female over-55), Roy Peel in 54.31mins (3rd male over-65), Martyn Griffiths in 55.06mins, Yolanda Nolan in 55.42mins, Debbie Evans in 56.42mins, Ann Lewis in 58.50mins and finally the ever-green Sheila Symonds (1st female over-65) in a time of 72.31mins
