A busy weekend started for Bro Dysynni A.C. on Saturday at the Pen-Y-Gwely Hill Race near Oswestry with Barrie Jackson 1st Male Over-55 home in a time of 48.44mins.

 

Sunday saw a good club turnout at 2 seperate venues. Four club members made their way to Newtown for the annual 10.25mile Mast Race. The best placed Dysynni runner was Walter Marsh, 4th overall and 1st veteran home, in a time of 1hr 07.10mins. In a creditable 7th place was Tom Lewis in 1hr 09.00mins, followed by Richard Griffiths in 1hr 12.19mins with the local quartet being made up by Sheila Symonds, 1st female over-65 home in a time of 2hrs 10.42mins.

 

Further afield, six club runners were in Bradford to compete amongst Britain's top 10k athletes in the AAA's Championships. First of the Dysynni contingent home in 45th position overall and also setting a personal best was Adrian Bailey in 31.37mins. Other Bro Dysynni finishers were Nigel Evans in 37.36mins, Paula Jeffs in 39.17mins, Rosie Naish in 39.39mins, Colin Evans in 43.37mins and Andy Unwin in 46.27mins.

 

This Sunday sees the running of the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon.
