Seven athletes from Bro Dysynni ventured across the Irish Sea last weekend and headed south to County Cork, to compete in the prestigous Nike-sponsored Ballycotton 10 mile race. In a field of some 1450 runners, the first Dysynni athlete home was Nigel Evans in a time of 1hr 04.14mins.

 

Following Nigel home for Bro Dysynni were Keith Allday in 1hr 11.30mins, Colin Evans in 1hr 15.48mins, Andy Unwin in 1hr 18.45mins, Gill Allday in 1hr 35.53mins and coming home together in 1hr 38.02mins were Christine Stevens and Liz Bradley.

 

Also on Sunday, two local athletes headed to Clwyd for the Farndon 10k race. First home for Dysynni was Malcolm Taylor (3rd male over-55) in 40.00mins, while the performance of the weekend came from Glenda Davies, who broke her own personal best in crossing the line in 43.35mins, a time which earned 3rd female finisher overall and 1st female over-35.
