A successful afternoon in Shropshire summarised the efforts of Bro Dysynni AC as seven of the 13 local athletes competing returned home with awards having run in the Ellesmere 10k.


In the race, won by Telford-based athlete Tony Power in a time of 31.49mins, the first local runner was Adrian Bailey who finished second, just 2 seconds behind the winner, after having led for the majority of the race.


Other local finishers with age category awards were; Tom Lewis in 40.10mins, Richard Griffiths in 41.35mins, Rosie Naish (3rd female overall) in 41.54mins, Barrie Jackson (2nd male over-60) in 42.56mins, Colin Evans in 45.44mins, Glenda Davies (3rd female over-35) in 46.07mins, Debbie Evans in 47.37mins, Andy Unwin in 48.03mins, Brenda Jones (1st female over-55) in 51.11mins, Roy Peel (2nd male over-70) in 57.08mins, Eirlys Griffiths in 1hr 03.51mins and Sheila Symonds (3rd female over-65) in 1hr 16.32mins.
