Another busy weekend for Bro Dysynni A.C. started on Friday evening, when members took part in the Park Hall Relays near Oswestry. With each runner completing a 2.25 mile leg, the Dysynni team of Barrie Jackson, Colin Evans, Glenda Davies and Rosie Naish covered the 9 miles in 57.32mins to be 3rd team home in the mixed category. Also running on the night for his second claim club of Prestatyn was Nigel Evans, his team coming home in 3rd place in the veterans category.
The following day, in stifling conditions, saw the Foel Gocyn Hill Run in Bryncrug. A good club turn out saw Adrian Bailey win the race for the fourth year in succession in a time of 27.04mins. Winning the ladies race for the 3rd year in succession was Paula Jeffs in a time of 33.12mins. Other finishers with age group category in brackets were: Walter Marsh in 30.59mins, Keith Allday (1st male over-40) in 33.59mins, Barrie Jackson (1st male over-55) in 36.11mins, Rosie Naish (1st female over-40) in 36.49mins, Liz Clarke of Les Croupiers in 38.21mins, Laura Scott (1st female under-18) in 38.59mins, John Nolan (1st male over-50) in 40.05mins, Andy Unwin in 42.18mins, Debbie Evans (1st female over-35) in 45.57mins, Yolanda Marconi-Nolan (1st female over-40) in 49.30mins, Christine Stevens in 52.09mins, Marjorie Griffiths (1st female over-50) in 55.33mins and Peter Blunden (1st male over-70) in 57.37mins.
This weekend sees the inaugural running of the Machynlleth 10k race. The race starts at 10.00a.m. on Saturday morning form the Bro Dyfi Leisure Centre.
