Individual athletes affiliated to both Bro Dysynni A.C. and Meirionnydd Running Club have been out and about recently competing at a range of events at five different venues.

Firstly, Bro Dysynni A.C. have been represented by Brenda Jones, who claimed age category victory within the Female Over-70 section at the recent Island Race, a half marathon challenge based in Anglesey, the Llanelltyd based athlete covering the 13.1 mile course in a time of 2hrs 02.14mins. Another Bro Dysynni athlete in action recently was Gavin Griffiths, the athlete with strong Tywyn connections completing the St. David's Day 10k Road Race held in Cardiff in a pleasing 50.03mins.

A trio of Meirionnydd Running Club athletes have also seen competitive action recently. Alex Lanz swapped his Meirionnydd vest for the North Wales colours as he was chosen as part of the North Wales regional team in action at last Saturday's McCain UK Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships, which were held at Cofton Park in Birmingham. Competing in the Under-20's race, the Dolgellau based athlete put in a strong performance as a time of 28.57 mins claimed a very respectable 140th spot finish in a race of extremely high calibre. Elsewhere, Meirionnydd were represented by Dave Parker at the Tour of Torpantau Fell Race, based in Talybont on Usk within the Brecon Beacons. The 8 mile race which included an overall 2,500 feet of climbing was also the first counter within the 2013 Inov8 WFRA Open Welsh Championships, the Meirionnydd athlete completing the event held in mist shrouded conditions in a time of 1hr 35.51 mins. Finally, in Wiltshire, Jeff Davies represented Meirionnydd, his chosen event being the Calne SMaRTT Smasher Multi Terrain 10k, an event completed in a time of 45.08mins.
