News Report 4th January 2000

Whereas many were nursing hangovers on New Years Day, three athletes from Bro Dysynni formed part of a field of 109 who competed in the Denbigh to Ruthin 10k road race, an event run annually on the first day of the year.

In a race won in a time of 31.22mins by James Jackson of Gloucester, the first Bro Dysynni athlete home in a personal best time was Paula Jeffs in 38.11mins, a time which also resulted in her being the second lady home overall.

Next home for Dysynni was Malcolm Taylor in a time of 39.11mins, a time good enough to claim his first vet. over-55 category. The trio was completed by Colin Evans, home in a time of 43.34mins.

With no local this weekend, the next race on the club calendar is the Llandudno to Colwyn Bay Twin Piers 10k, which takes place on Saturday, 15th January at 1.30pm.
