There was Championship success for two athletes affiliated to Bro Dysynni A.C. recently at the North Wales 5k Road Running Championships, incorporated within the Rhyl Sun Centre 5k. Llanelltyd-based Brenda Jones dominated the Female Over-70 category, claiming victory in an excellent time of 27.13mins whilst club colleague, Sheila Symonds of Dolgellau, was successful within the Female Over-75 age group, victory being claimed in a time of 42.14mins.

Two further athletes affiliated to Bro Dysynni were also in action recently as John Tee of Blaenau Ffestiniog completed the inaugural Bangor 10k Road Race in a time of 55.07mins, a time which also claimed 2nd place within the Male Over-65 category, whilst Gavin Griffiths, originally of Tywyn, completed the Sirhowy 10 mile multi-terrain event, held in the Caerphilly district in a pleasing time of 1hr 34.26mins.

Five athletes affiliated to Meirionnydd R.C. have also seen competitive action recently. At the BUPA Great Manchester Run 10k, Tony Hodgson of Llanelltyd claimed a finishing time of 42.49mins, whilst a quartet of Meirionnydd athletes saw relatively local action at the Moel Y Gest fell race, the 5th counter of the 10 race Joe Brown 19th Midweek Fell Running Series. There was an excellent 2nd place for Ifan Richards of Brithdir in a time of 33.10mins with Dylan Jones of Aberdyfi claiming 3rd spot in 36.00mins. Claiming 5th spot was Mark Atherton of Llan Ffestiniog in 37.23mins with Alan Jones of Blaenau Ffestiniog completing the quartet as he came home in a time of 44.19mins.
